Ceremony to confer the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Law on Daniel M. Tsai Chairman,Fubon Group

On January 5, 2024, the Honorary Doctorate of Law ceremony for Chairman Daniel M. Tsai was held at the International Conference Hall of the Guoxi Building. The ceremony commenced with a blessing by Father Lin Zhi-Ding, the chaplain of Fu Jen Catholic University. Dean Wu Zhi-Guang of the Law School read the letter of recommendation, and President Jiang Han-Sheng presented the certificate. Hundreds of faculty and students, including Archbishop Liu Zhen-Zhong, Vice Presidents Lin Rui-De, Wang Ying-Zhou, Zhang Yi-Yun, Xie Bang-Chang, attended the ceremony. Mr. William Treanor, Dean of the Law School at Georgetown University, and Lawyer Huang Ri-Can delivered speeches.
 
Chairman Daniel M. Tsai has shown remarkable dedication and care for society, extending his concern to Fu Jen University over the past decade. The Fubon Group has sponsored Fu Jen athletes such as Guo Xing-Chun, Lin Yun-Ru, Zheng Yi-Jing, Huang Xiao-Wen, Ding Hua-Tian, and Xu Le. In academia, Chairman Daniel M. Tsai has generously supported the Fu Jen Law School by establishing the Daniel M. Tsai (Fubon) Law Lecture Series, the Fubon Communication Law Lecture Series, funding educational law research projects, and renovating internship courtrooms. He has also instituted an Honorary Professorship in Communication, inviting foreign professors for academic exchanges to enhance scholarly discourse. His philanthropic efforts serve as an exemplary model of corporate support for education.
